Love taking photos of plants, animals, fungi, lichen and more? Join us for our 3rd Annual Otter Ponds iNaturalist Bioblitz along with Ducks Unlimited Canada, Ecology Action Centre, Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute, Treasured Wetlands of NS, Dalhousie University, and St. FX University!

This family-friendly field day will offer a mix of  different stations along our trails as well as scheduled walks with a variety of species experts. 

Stations will include:

• Critter dipping
• Water quality sampling
• Monitoring bird Species-at-Risk
• Nature through the microscope
• and more!

A free BBQ lunch will be available on site (please indicate dietary restrictions in registration form).

Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Register soon using the form below to help us plan meal numbers!

Once registered, we will contact you via email with more details. Please arrive at the Mooseland Community Centre (4032 Mooseland Rd, Mooseland, NS) by 9:50am.

• Smartphone/tablet with the free iNaturalist app downloaded
• ​Binoculars
• Sturdy footwear for hiking through the woods
• Appropriate clothing for the weather
• Sunscreen
• Insect repellant
• Water​
• Notebook and pen
• Hand lens or magnifying glass

We recommend downloading the free iNaturalist App onto your phone and making an account beforehand if possible. You can find it at inaturalist.ca or in the App Store or Google Play.
