Join us at the Otter Ponds Demonstration Forest on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 for our annual fall public field day! Enjoy free guided hikes in partnership with Hike NS through our beautiful forest while learning more about ecological forestry and responsible forest management from our knowledgeable tour guides.
Participants will meet at the Mooseland Community Centre (4032 Mooseland Road, Mooseland, NS) at 10:00am and carpool down to the site from there. This event will end at 3:00pm.
Our amazing volunteers have been working on our trail network for the past several years and we now have trails through a wide diversity of forested ecosystems, including hardwood drumlins, mixed wood and softwood stands, and ponds and riparian habitat.
Participants will need to bring their own bagged lunches for this event, which will be enjoyed at the Otter Ponds Visitor Shelter on site. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the weather and conditions (no open-toed footwear).
